Our Tackling Health Inequalities Programme recently hosted a webinar dedicated to breast cancer awareness. This seminar, the first in our series, prioritised bridging healthcare access gaps for grassroots communities, delivering essential information and resources.

  • Date and Attendance: On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, over 50 participants joined us for this informative webinar.
  • Chairperson: Dr. Tariq Chauhan, Chair of Beacon Community Charitable Trust and CEO of Beacon Medical Services Group, chaired the session, guiding participants through the discussions.
  • Keynote Speakers: Participants had the privilege of hearing from esteemed speakers:
  • Professor Dr Anil Jain, the founder of the South Asian Breast Cancer Group, discussed the importance of local support groups and emphasised collaboration between professionals and communities in combating breast cancer.
  • Dr Bushera Choudry: Provided insights from a GP perspective, focusing on early detection and the significance of seeking medical attention upon noticing early signs or symptoms of breast cancer.
  • Participant Engagement: Attendees actively engaged with speakers, absorbing valuable insights into breast cancer awareness, early detection, and support networks.
